Are you ready for a "veggie exchange"? #Giveaway Ends 8/29

Just by looking at this photo you would think you were looking at an ordinary dinner plate with a scoop of mashed potatoes and sweet potatoes. Well let me fill you in, neither one is what it seems from the outside. This meal is the victim of a "veggie exchange". One is actually Birds Eye Veggie Made™ Roasted Garlic Cauliflower, and the other is Birds Eye Veggie Made™ Sweet Potatoes & Carrots with Brown Sugar. Bet you never would have guessed that! The new Veggie Made™ mashed products are a great way to switch out traditional mashed potatoes for a whole new flavor experience. My daughter absolutely can't stand sweet potatoes no matter how I prepare them. Thankfully I convinced her to give these a try by telling her it was only a scoop of carrots with brown sugar. And guess what??? She actually tried AND liked them! Being a good mom I did finally fess up that it was a mix of sweet potatoes and carrots. I actually had to show her the bag to prove it because she thought I was making it up, she couldn't even tell.

Birds Eye Veggie Made™ Mashed: Original Cauliflower, Sour Cream & Chives Cauliflower, Roasted Garlic Cauliflower, and Sweet Potatoes & Carrots with Brown Sugar.

Birds Eye Veggie Made™ products offer a delicious and nutritious alternative to traditional comfort foods. They offer a full serving of vegetables without the artificial ingredients. With the Steamfresh packaging they are even quick and easy to prep in a matter of minutes in the microwave. I love keeping a few bags on hand for those busy evenings when meal prep time is short. With school back in session those nights will definitely be coming!

  1. I can't think of an instance off the top of my head where we had a veggie exchange. A few years ago my wife read that you could substitute a banana for eggs in a recipe, so she tried it, and it didn't really work!!

  13. We actually have done the cauliflower for mashed potatoes. The first time, my husband did it on a whim his own way and it was disgusting. We all made faces at each other quietly trying not to hurt his feelings until eventually I couldn't take it anymore and had to say something. About a week later I found a recipe for doing them and made then and they were way better. The trick was adding a little corn startch to thinken them.
