When their plane encounters engine trouble, the pilot is forced to make an emergency landing in the woods in the middle of nowhere. As they travel on foot to seek help, Zach, Hannah and their loyal companion come face-to-face with the challenges of the wilds – from wolves and grizzly bears to forest fires. Using all the wilderness skills they know – and with some help from Chinook, the siblings must work together to overcome each obstacle and conquer the ultimate goal – returning home again.

My Take:
My kids have always been drawn to movies that feature animals as part of the main storyline. As soon as they saw me pull this one out of the box with the dogs picture on the cover they immediately they started asking when we could watch it. I first showed them the YouTube trailer above and they got even more excited, and I started to get excited too. It looked like a great family friendly movie so I was on board. I was very pleased with the storyline and that it was truly family friendly from start to finish. My kids liked that it was mostly centered around the two children in the movie and their dog. Overall it was a good movie with a good (believable) storyline that I'd recommend for a great family night treat.
