Bellaboo's Play and Discovery Center

Bellaboo's Play and Discovery Center is recognized as Greater Chicagoland's Premier Kid's Destination. If you're not familiar with Bellaboo's Play and Discovery Center, they are located in NW Indiana, just across the Illinois border, at the southeast corner of I-80/94 & I-65.  45 minutes from the Loop and about an hour from the western burbs. You can also visit their website for more detailed directions.

Bellaboo's is designed for children nine and under and their families. It's a self-directed play facility providing colorful, fun, and secure areas where children from infants to age nine can explore, create, and interact. Everything is meant to be touched, moved, constructed, and played with.  At Bellaboo’s, activities will combine fun and entertainment leading to learning and development in a safe and secure environment. The colorful and imaginative center features 23,000 square foot of hands-on activities.

Bellaboo's features daily programs that are always FREE with regular admission. These range from Children's Cooking to Storytime, and Creative Discovery. They also have various activities planned based on the time of year and holidays. You can find out all about their activities through their online calendar. While you're there make sure you check out the upcoming summer camp programs!

I haven't had the opportunity to visit Bellaboo's yet, but am hoping to make a trip up that way this summer while we are doing some Indiana traveling. It sounds like a place that would be a ton of fun for my daughter that's eight. She's all the time asking to do more "by herself" when it comes to activities and this would be the perfect place to let her do just that. If you have younger children I strongly urge you to check out their website because really it's like a mini tour of Bellaboo's. It shows you lots of the activities they offer as well as the party rooms, cafe, and more.
